Tintoretto and Venice. Exploring the Late Italian Renaissance

December 7, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

A conversation with Matteo Casini (Suffolk University) and Lorenzo Buonanno (University of Massachusetts, Boston):

The 500th anniversary of the birth of Jacopo Tintoretto (1518-1594), one of the most formidable painters of Renaissance Italy, is the occasion of great celebrations in Europe and America. Most important exhibitions are scheduled in Venice, Italy, and Washington, D.C., while catalogs and publications are exploring the Italian Renaissance history and art under a new light.
Matteo Casini and Lorenzo Buonanno will discuss the extraordinary value and legacy of the work of Jacopo Tintoretto and the experience of Renaissance Venice.
